(NTF) is the nation’s best model for keeping siblings together in foster care and reuniting families quicker. We currently care for abused and neglected children in Flagler/Volusia counties within the foster care system. We also have other programs designed to help high risk families. These programs have proven successful in keeping families together through the intervention services we provide.

Proceeds from this luncheon celebration which will exceed $18,000 will improve the lives of the children and families in our care.

Nominate your favorite adult sibling group!
Neighbor To Family to honor siblings at its 2011 Atlanta Siblings of the Year Event

Neighbor To Family will honor an adult sibling group at its first Atlanta Siblings of the Year Luncheon in May 2011.

Neighbor To Family (NTF) established the Gordon Johnson Award, named after our founder, to honor the special sibling bond and to recognize local sibling groups whose lives exemplify the importance of the sibling relationship. A recipient of the Purpose Prize, Mr. Johnson has been honored as an innovator over the age of 60 who is "leading the new age of social innovation" through his work in keeping siblings together while in foster care.

Ideal candidates will be adult sibling groups with a strong local connection who, through service to their family and community, reinforce the beauty and value of a sibling bond. Selection is based on the following criteria:
1) Be part of a local sibling group with at least one sibling residing locally;
2) Length of residence locally;
3) Demonstrated effective community involvement;
4) Documented leadership contributions; and
5) Willingness to share openly about the sibling bond.

To nominate your favorite siblings, please download a 2011 Atlanta Siblings of the Year application or call Jody Howard, Education and Support Services Manager at 404-315-0100 Ext. 125.

Deadline for nomination submission is Friday, December 31, 2010.

The Gordon Johnson Award will be presented at Neighbor to Family's Siblings of the Year Luncheon to be held in May 2011. Proceeds from this celebration will go to enhance services for abused and neglected children under the care of NTF in the Metro-Atlanta area. For sponsorship opportunities, please contact Jody Howard at the telephone number shown above or via email at jhoward@ntf.org.
